the last time i left you guys, i was at day 2 of the melbourne trip. we shall now head into day 3 of the trip! full of glorious food and beautiful weather.

i visit www.kyspeaks.com very often and he once spoke highly of a breakfast place in Melbourne. he mentioned that it was located next to the tram tracks. guess what, chung brought me there! MART in all its glory! woohoo!

and you could even see the trams from the windows!

everything inside this cafe reminded me of the combination old&new. look at the ceilings. white ceilings(i presume to be newly done) but with vintage lamps. isn’t it amazing?

and that was only breakfast! we went to dfo to shop a little after and there were some really good bargains. esp shoes. oohh, shoes really do kill women/ladies/girls. they make an awesome item for collection, but beautiful shoes usually kill the feet anyway. oh the hate and love!

we went to a famous greek restaurant for lunch. this was definitely one of the most memorable meals i had in melbourne.

according to chung, this place is always full of people!

the dipping sauce was the best i’ve ever tried! hands down!

pair the dipping sauce with some pita bread…and wow. awesome stuff.

oh and i love the very flavourful meat! it goes very well with the pita bread and dipping sauce.

and for dinner, chung decided to treat me to a spectacular 7 course meal at kobe jones. mindblowing experience, i’d say

started off with some lovely fritters fried to perfection.

and then moved on to a selection of sushis and sashimis!

lobster. THE WHOLE OF IT MUAHAHA! ok, i love my lobsters. i had this toy called prawnie (i swear it’s a lobster although it’s called prawnie) at home and i couldn’t fall asleep unless i had it in my hands. my mum had to constantly save it by stitching the ‘arms’ back hahaha. it served me good for 17 years! i’m going so off topic

lemon sorbet to balance out the saltiness in your mouth. this was absolutely important in our entire meal as it really took away the slightly heavier flavours left in our mouths. it prepped our mouths for the next course!

wagyu beef on the stone! awesome stuff i tell you. it melts in your mouth and has a very good texture. give me this anytime!

and finally. a dessert platter. the best was…

creme brulee!

we headed to the casino next. chung told me there was something i should watch at the casino.

and we waited and waited…..until

and we walked back, taking in all the views of Melbourne. it was my last night there, after all.

anyway, i am really back(b)logged so i’m gonna write about my Melbourne Trip (Pt 2). My favourite meal of the day (in Melbourne) definitely was breakfast. The warm toasty smells of the cafes, i shall never forget! For my very first breakfast in Melbourne, Chung decided to bring me to a nice quiet cafe called “Auction Rooms”. It has really beautiful decor and a very rustic feel towards it. i LOVED it!

and here, you can choose to sit beside the quiet roads!

and we went to Toki for lunch! it’s a small jap restaurant, good nonetheless.

i had the toki platter! looks huge, but was just nice can you imagine the size of my stomach now hahahah!

and for tea, we went to san churros! my fav churros ever.

churros in all its glory! and the amount of milk choc the boss gave us was just amazing. i love it!

it was quite an eye-opener, or rather mouth-opener. full of beautiful culinary delights and little shopping experiences!

i arrived sunday afternoon and melbourne happily welcomed me with blowing cold wind! what a change from the 35 deg hot Brisbane! i was so pleased with the weather throughout the whole trip.

Took a bus to the CBD and the journey began! Chung was a really really nice host (i can never emphasise this enough). He first brought me to Melbourne Central as Calvin Klein was still having some pretty sweet deals. And look at this!

one of the best parts i like about melbourne is the beautiful architecture. very nice victorian-styled buildings everywhere! even the public library is a yummy building to look at. it’s a very interesting change from the modern buildings in brisbane.

throughout the trip, I made a lot of use both my legs. we walked everywhere (although we did cheat by using the trams to certain ‘unreachable-by-legs’ destinations). it was a different perspective althogether when I slowed down my own pace and took everything in around me slowly. very very nice.

the first night, we went to a very special restaurant. a ferrari restaurant roar! and a very yummy one at that too! it’s located at the famed lygon street. it’s definitely a must see and a must try if one goes to melbourne. lygon street is very famous for their delicious italian food and gelati. yay!

look at all the different selections! they even have the pungent durian! no doubt, this is the best gelati that I’ve ever had hands down.

started preparing for the night out at ying’s place. i love her cosy little place because it feels like home. just nice for the three of them. and their kitchen is absolutely gorgeous. black granite kitchen counter with lots of warm spotlights shining onto it. awwwww.

then a couple of us took the train to ‘the valley’, an area dubbed the chinatown of brisbane and is very famous for its nightlife. clubs, pubs, chinese restaurants. you name it, they’ve got it. we went there for a sing and jam session (haha). karaoke time!

red nails+red phone = match made in heaven!

we saw this lovely jazz band playing on the streets. they were good, like really good. the lead singer had a very rich and charming voice. i can picture her singing in high end restaurants. the pianist was really amazing too. ying fell in love with him? hahahha! i fell in love with the bassist. her skills, OMG!

after enjoying the music for 10 minutes or so, we proceeded to jo jo’s!

caesar’s salad. it was good and cheesy haha. my fav dish of the night!

thai chicken pizza. it was alright, but i very much prefer italian toppings!

and spaghetti marinara. boring dish i say. the seafood was very fresh though.
