and so it is Sunday. the day i dread almost the most lately. A package of inner conflicts coupled up with loads of unfinished work makes Yii Zhu an unhappy girl.
Sundays have been, in most of my life, the last day of the week. A day where I’m supposed to kick back and relax. A day to go out and have a hearty breakfast with the family. A day to do grocery shopping with the family. A day to watch re-runs of The Nanny!
It’s very unfortunate how everything is so very different now.
I shouldn’t say that I’m a person with adult responsibilities but most of us are on our way there. Sundays are now obviously both the last and first day of the week. As the first day of the week, Sunday is supposed to promise new beginnings but to me it’s more like a preparation day. A preparation day where I have to run through all my tutorial materials and readings and then worry about the breakfast(s)/meal(s) for the week. And now, I have additional stress from having the choice whether to go to church or not. C mentioned that going to church is not an act to proclaim one’s loyalty to church. I beg to differ (in my case anyway). It’s just a personal rant and i’m not aiming at anybody!
I think the church has been “commercialised”. Way too much that it’s getting on the pathetic edge. What’s with the whole idea that attending church on a regular basis will get you the ticket to heaven? I would like to think of the church as the place to renew your vows to God and to remind you of His glory. It is most certainly not an exclusive members-only place (which gives you members-only exclusivity thinggy like spas). Seriously, I cannot emphasize this enough. Worshipping can be done in the heart, and loyalty is an invisible thing. No one can argue about the physicality of loyalty.

As a university undergrad, I do not ask for much. I only ask for a quiet surrounding. I have learnt how to block out unwanted noise with science applications. In the long run however, what i really need is a stable and quiet heart. Then I will be able to block out all the unwanted ‘noise’ from within me. If not, I will just never find peace.
I should be less angry with people around me. I should embrace them and love them for who they are. Teach them what a real human is all about, no? Teach them what politeness is. Teach them what taste is. Teach them what loyalty is. Teach them what a human touch is. Teach them what un-selfishness is. Teach them what life is. It’s not really all about self-centeredness. My goodness.
Okay, now this was a really random post. But i felt the need to write. Just because.
Louis! or in this case, Travel with Louis.

Beautiful picture captured in the ’50s. Personally, i think it encapsulates everything a photo should have. From the beautiful New York Harbour skyline to her own very personal valet. Mrs. Amory Carhart Jr. definitely rocked this photo well!
It spells fabulousity to me.
oh, i’m in the mood for oldies. L-O-V-E, by the one and only Nat King Cole!

i’ve been so consumed with school and work lately that i hardly have the time to breathe (although i still have the time to watch reruns of sex and the city hahaha).
on a brighter side, i enjoy doing groceries these days! looking at counters and counters of food! it certainly makes my day! i make routine runs to the neighbourhood’s korean food store and i’ve made this little discovery of a very yummy ice-cream! AND FACE MASKS!
those face masks rock my socks because:
1. they are only $1 each.
2. they have an assortment of flavours (haha). from yogurt to green tea to raspberry! SWEET!
3. i need something to de-stress my now wrinkly face, i kid you not.
so here we go!

for those who are sharp-eyed, you might have already noticed the grammatical errors on the packaging LOL but hey, it’s Korea!

HAHAHAHAHA! i dub her, the ghost!
take care peeps.
beautiful Saturday, beautiful friends, beautiful weather, beautiful Southbank and not so beautiful-me. wait and listen.
as i mentioned previously above, a few of us decided to go out last Saturday to celebrate cecilia’s 22nd.
she’s a very nice friend and she does not look 22 y.o at all! well, let’s not judge the book by its cover haha. she’s been through a lot of ups and downs in her life (pregnant maid too!) so kudos to her for persevering through all those.
we started the day by savouring some korean food in the city. being the hungry us, we licked all the plates clean within 15-20 minutes and totally forgot about the phrase ‘blogging-need-pictures!’.
anyhoos, the jajangmyun was my favourite hands down! here’s a link for all of you to check out what all the hiatus is about. *click*
after a fulfilling lunch, we walked about 15 minutes down to Southbank. a pretty pretty place! my favourite place in the whole of Brisbane actually. it has this man-made pool (for you perverted guys T_T) and a flea market during the weekends! Southbank is really the place to stay and over the years has attracted a lot of high flyers. The condos there never disappoint and the view is always breathtaking!

it even has its own Eye of Brisbane! *grins*
anyway, back to the flea market. the stuff sold there is always pretty, interesting, or even yummy! they have the ever-so-famous churros (complete with the choc dip and lots of whipped cream) or even if you want, choc filled bananas. o_______0 havent you ever wonder how they make it?

walk walk walk…

aww, look at the flowers!

and tadah! the flea market. it reminds me of subiaco back in perth, just bigger and better!

there are people everywhere!

there are gypsy stalls, did i mention? gypsies trying to look into your future and make you spend $45 or so for it. so enid-blyton like!

CHECK THIS PICTURE OUT! hahhaha
okay, time for some self-taken shots!

Fonnie and me.
we rock!

Fonnie, Ying and me! the crazy bunch

wanjun the future scientist who will take over the world XD

and the BD girl! she doesn’t look 22, i told you!

the day was great. much needed outing with friends haha
and what happened to the happy me? my nose bled all the way back home. not a pretty sight i tell you. it was tough to endure the whole 25 minutes back home! but well, at least someone sitting next to me offered me tissue. /touched
that’s all people. hopefully i’ll have another fun outing soon-ish! take care.
