the firm is every lawyer’s goddamn dream.

the clinic is every doctor’s goddamn dream.

the church is every pastor’s goddamn dream.

money, however ugly on the face of it, is everyone’s goddamn dream.

.

did you just say that money wasn’t your goddamn dream?

i can’t hear you, say it louder!

did you just say that it’s not wise to live in a world of materials?

i really can’t hear you, why oh why are you so soft?

.

let’s face it, you coward!

speak up the truth and only the truth,

i dare you, with all my mighty heart,

tell it to my face that money isn’t really you.

.

yes, i do not know you well enough,

how could i ever judge you from afar?

i’m sorry but i still persist my stand,

you would do anything to go that far.

.

what on earth did humans do to be lost this way?

come what may, i say death is still far,

well maybe we’re a little concerned about uncertainties,

heck, what’s left in the coin jar?

.

p/s yes, yet another controversial piece. i’m always angry at the world, didn’t you know that? (:

p/p/s happy merdeka day! hello, anybody?

  5. this is the 1st time give comment ho. Anyway, lets get to the main point. i agree with wat chunghui said. wealth is important but it is not the main thing in life. Many things are still ahead of that like family, health, friends, etc etc….. but money is very important oso…. it contradicts itself le…. ok, i stop now.. =)

  7. I’d like to differ. You can hurl all your insults at me later.

The church isn’t a pastor’s dream. If the person is a true pastor, his dream would be something else. Something in line with God’s plan. I would not go and speculate what a pastor’s dream might be, but I can testify that If they loved money, they would not have become pastors. Why?

Being a pastor is not easy. It is not high pay. It has loads of responsibilities. Think of a shepherd. A pastor is a kind of shepherd, responsible for the safety of the Lord’s sheep.

Money is, as it is written, a gift of God. God entrusts you with the money and it’s your responsibility to use it wisely. As it is written, one can only serve 1 god. The choice is yours: You can either worship money, or you can worship God.

As for why the world is so materialistic, it is the power of sin in the world. The entire world is sinful. It contaminates the very nature of man because of the first sin.

  8. i agree with some parts of what you said, sim zhe. the first part of the post re the dreams section was not really about money. it was just a general expression where i penned down my personal thoughts about their respective dreams. the goals of their lives, essentially. unfortunately, be it the power of sin or not, money is very much a form of need in this world today.

  9. Oh my…I can sense the angst in your tone…
Sadly I can’t bring myself to agree with you (although I wish I could)
I have a confession to make…and I won’t deny that money has driven me to the position I am in right now =)
You don’t know how’s it like…so don’t make simple judgments

Yes, I will do anything to go that far
Money can buy my family’s comfort
Money can buy my parent’s health
Money can buy my siblings’ education
Money helps to accomplish my dream!!

And if you don’t want to see this on-going

Be the change you want to see in the world, by your favourite Ghandi

  10. I’d have to disagree with your post, Miss YZ. Money isn’t most people’s dream. Money is merely another step of materialising another dream, be it physical or emotional or mentally, or even spiritually. As the saying goes (in my own personal view), money isn’t everything, but most things need money. Money is simply a matter of simplifying the barter system.Only fools will believe that the amount of digits in their bank accounts is their dream. But what purpose are those digits if they’re not used? Pride? Glory? Pride is a piece of shit, a tool of which humans use to strive for certain goals, waiting to be discarded when the time comes. Even claiming “the first to comment” title, “Omg, first!”, “Yay, I’m first!” is a pathetic & shameless shoutout for attention and an expression of one’s pride. My question to the world would be when did the world revolve around pride & glory? What ever happened to the humble, noble human? Did they fade away? I wonder.. Sorry if I’m being aggressive in this post. But this is my own personal opinion. :P

  11. once again, i’m not putting the emphasis on the importance of money. do read my post again. i’m talking about some people being fakes and trying to tell the whole world that they do not want/need money when really, they want to be the top three in the race for money/fame or whatnot.

and tom 320, simple judgments are not something i like to make. i’ve considered thoroughly what to write and what not to write in this post. yes, it is angst, and no, it is not for all. it for an ascertainable class of people and only them. i’d like to label them, the fakes. like you, i’d do anything for the better of this world. i do not deny the importance of money, but not till the extent that it is everything in this world. do read it with a different perspective. finally, i wasn’t really born with a silver spoon in my mouth. i believe in hard work and all there is to it.
