so yes, i have been abandoning this blog a bit.
been thinking about it for a while, and decided that i should take this blog in another direction.
i want to give it a bit more depth, more questions to ponder upon. Less of the just-a-bit-of-scratch-on-the-surface happiness, rather focusing more on the inner-soul happiness.
when it comes to the questions of factors that are stopping me from reaching out to my dreams, i hesitate to find out the answers even more. Responsibility kicks into action, and i tell myself “hey, dont be such a selfish girl!”…on the other hand, i go “you’re a fool to let go”. so, can you see the dilemma?
anyhow, i’m a very lucky girl to have found happiness in other parts of my life…including food and family. my almost daily dose of coffee helps put a smile on my face. oh, and that pile of books beside my bed too!
i spent the last couple of months thinking about the directions in my life. i came to the conclusion that i’ve lost that self-confidence to fight for my dreams, of which i had since primary school! and why so? two main factors. 1. weight 2. uni
i know factor 1 might sound like rubbish to some people, but sometimes…you just have to agree with me that physical looks do help a teeny bit with self confidence. i mean, i’ve seen many people who are very comfortable with their weight and looks. i guess i’m just not one of them. i put on a total of nearly 15-20kg within 4 years thanks to those binge-when-stressed times. o__________0 mind-blowing, i know!
anyway, i started my gym regime in december ‘09 until feb ‘10 and lost a total of 5kg. i did put some weight back on (thanks to chinese new year) but now i’m back to gym-ing! so my resolution (i missed new years for this, but never too late!
) this year, will be to lose another 6kg.
to the ‘healthy’ weight for my height haha. wish me luck people!
and for factor number 2, i guess those people who are in uni would understand my position. when you’re in a crowd of 30,000 students….you just stand out no more. it’s not such a bad thing, to not be in the limelight for once. helps you stay humble and all. so yeah, i’m going to look at it in a more positive way!
pray for me, people. and help me find my self-confidence back!
p/s my first bottle of Jacob’s Creek Cabernet Sauvignon (Vintage 2006) was great, why wasn’t the second bottle as great?!
Never before have i felt this way.
Lost, but with directions. Laughing, but with sadness.
It’s absolutely confusing. I wish this would all go away, very soon.
I pray, really hard.
As I know,
After the rain, cometh the rainbow.
hahaha, really sorry for the loooooooooooong break in between the posts but listen to my excuses first kay? i had to find a new place to live in (nearer to uni, in a better condition blah blah blah you get the idea) and spent nearly 2 weeks searching high and low for “the one”! i went to numerous house inspections only to be let down and yeah the cycles went over and over again.
anyhoos, i found the perfect place! going to show you a teaser photo of it!

there you go. remember the lot number. HAHAHH!

the last time i left you guys, i was at day 2 of the melbourne trip. we shall now head into day 3 of the trip! full of glorious food and beautiful weather.
i visit www.kyspeaks.com very often and he once spoke highly of a breakfast place in Melbourne. he mentioned that it was located next to the tram tracks. guess what, chung brought me there! MART in all its glory! woohoo!

tram spelt backwards! is that brilliant or what.

the very quaint setting although located right next to the tram tracks.

the counter where all the good coffee is made!

a gorgeous lady behind the daunting coffee machine.

it’s a definitely a very very cosy place!

and you could even see the trams from the windows!

everything inside this cafe reminded me of the combination old&new. look at the ceilings. white ceilings(i presume to be newly done) but with vintage lamps. isn’t it amazing?

chung’s chai latte.

the china is absolutely a piece of art. heck, the cafe was filled with art!

my latte. yum

chung and his toast. he had bacons for toppings.

a closer look at the beautifully caramelised bacon.

my huge pancake stack!

i could barely finish half of the dish. chung helped a little! haha
x
and that was only breakfast! we went to dfo to shop a little after and there were some really good bargains. esp shoes. oohh, shoes really do kill women/ladies/girls. they make an awesome item for collection, but beautiful shoes usually kill the feet anyway. oh the hate and love!
we went to a famous greek restaurant for lunch. this was definitely one of the most memorable meals i had in melbourne.

according to chung, this place is always full of people!

the dipping sauce was the best i’ve ever tried! hands down!

pair the dipping sauce with some pita bread…and wow. awesome stuff.

oh and i love the very flavourful meat! it goes very well with the pita bread and dipping sauce.

x
and for dinner, chung decided to treat me to a spectacular 7 course meal at kobe jones. mindblowing experience, i’d say
started off with some lovely fritters fried to perfection.

and then moved on to a selection of sushis and sashimis!

lobster. THE WHOLE OF IT MUAHAHA! ok, i love my lobsters. i had this toy called prawnie (i swear it’s a lobster although it’s called prawnie) at home and i couldn’t fall asleep unless i had it in my hands. my mum had to constantly save it by stitching the ‘arms’ back hahaha. it served me good for 17 years! i’m going so off topic

lemon sorbet to balance out the saltiness in your mouth. this was absolutely important in our entire meal as it really took away the slightly heavier flavours left in our mouths. it prepped our mouths for the next course!

wagyu beef on the stone! awesome stuff i tell you. it melts in your mouth and has a very good texture. give me this anytime!

and finally. a dessert platter. the best was…

creme brulee!

we headed to the casino next. chung told me there was something i should watch at the casino.

and we waited and waited…..until

vroommph! a fire show!

imagine the heat just by looking at the photos i took. o___________0

and we walked back, taking in all the views of Melbourne. it was my last night there, after all.

chung and i. bff!
till next time!
still another chapter to go
I am nothing but a painter, waiting for death.
and i’m back from boxing day sales! my gosh, the queues at Guess, Jurlique and Swaroski stores were so long! and i dare say 80% of them were Asians hahah!
anyway, i am really back(b)logged so i’m gonna write about my Melbourne Trip (Pt 2). My favourite meal of the day (in Melbourne) definitely was breakfast. The warm toasty smells of the cafes, i shall never forget! For my very first breakfast in Melbourne, Chung decided to bring me to a nice quiet cafe called “Auction Rooms”. It has really beautiful decor and a very rustic feel towards it. i LOVED it!

and here, you can choose to sit beside the quiet roads!

chung’s chai latte

my very very yummy breakfast!
x
and we went to Toki for lunch! it’s a small jap restaurant, good nonetheless.

i had the toki platter! looks huge, but was just nice
can you imagine the size of my stomach now hahahah!

chung’s unagi rice i think.

x
and for tea, we went to san churros! my fav churros ever.

churros in all its glory! and the amount of milk choc the boss gave us was just amazing. i love it!

simple chinese dinner because
.
.
.
we wanted to go for dessert! KOKO BLACK!

the platter! good combination. i love the mousse and ice cream the most!

and i’m missing the hot choc oh-so-badly!
that’s all peeps. i took quite a bit of time resizing the photos then uploading them. will try to blog Pt 3 as soon as possible. stay tuned!
